In his heyday Oleg Cassini was known to be the Couturier of Camelot and dressed Jacqueline Kenned on many the occasion. That collaboration led to the dresses of this ilk - it is profoundly of the "Jackie O" look and feel with its perfect little box cut and ease and simplicity in design. Dresses from this time period can be deceptively simple but are cut exceedingly well so that they really give a girl a trim silhouette and have a look of lady-like refinement. I love the decorative use of buttons on this one - it gives the illusion of a crossed over dress. The slubbed silk adds texture and the color has a hint of pink - not fully conveyed here in these photos but very pretty in person. His older pieces in such excellent condition are hard to find as they where cherished and worn to pieces. This is also a great and highly wearable larger size with its original tie belt! Excellent condition
Shoulders: 16" across
Bust: 20" from side seam to side seam
Waist: 15" flat across from side seam to side seam
Hips: 20" flat across from side seam to side seam
Bodice: 17" from shoulder to waist
Skirt: 26" from waist to hem
The dress is fully lined in a taupe silky rayon and closes with a back painted metal zipper. It has its original tie belt which is in excellent condition. There is one teeny nick to the top layer of fabric on one sleeve - it looks at first glance to be a slub in the fabric but is there. It is stable and very minor.
