What is transidentity?

Transidentity is a gender identity. It refers to people who don't have the same gender as the biological sex they were born with. It can be people born with female sexual attributes and feeling like a man, and conversely, or people who don't feel like either a man or a woman.

People born as « women » who feel like men are called trans men (FtoM, Female to Male) and people born as « men » who feel like women are called trans women (MtoF, Male to Female).

Contrary to popular belief, being transgender doesn't necessarily mean having surgery! It is a person's personal sensitivity that will influence their decision to make physical changes, or not, as well as medical and surgical treatments, or not.
